Eyes are mirrors for our emotions, so we must take care of those. Due to various reasons eyes are getting many diseases. Red eyes or bloodshot eyes are one of the main things.
There are several reasons for this effect, such as Ophthalmia, Dry eyes, Allergy, Contact lens, Computer vision syndrome, Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery, Glaucoma, and more.

Ophthalmia :
In some cases due to a lineal eye injury, Sympathetic Ophthalmia can develop. This can present itself as a Uveitis, it will happen when the resistant power of our body attacks the damaged eye first and then affects the healthy one.
This Sympathetic Ophthalmia (SO) will happen very rarely, it can occur in 0.2 to 0.5% of non-surgical eyes wounds and less than 0.01% of surgical eye wounds.
In this condition we didn’t feel any pain, however, the eyes will experience blurred vision and the eyes lose their capability of focus. 80 percent of cases this SO will occur within three months of injury and 90 percent of cases it will occur within one year of the period.
Symptoms :
Ensuingly the symptoms grow to include:
> Heavy eye pain and redness in both eyes
> High sensitivity of light (known as Photophobia)
> Eyespots in the optical field
> Weak and pale eyes
> Visual damage, and finally leads to blindness
When we went for a slit-lamp checkup, the doctor may observe the cluster of provocative cells on the posterior corneal surface. If the sight increased in the injured eye, the removal of the complete injured eyeball will take place. If the sight of the injured continues, or either if the medical action is unable to prevent autoimmune response, then the usage of the drug called corticosteroid may be used to control the intervention and immunosuppressive will take place. In this, it may also use T-cell drugs such as Cyclosporine, which is partially concealed immune system activity.
Dry Eyes:
The main reason for dry eyes is lack of oily or slippery substance (known as Lubricant) and moisture on the surface of the eye. The effect of dry eyes ranges from delicate, however it makes constant eye irritation and critical inflammation.
The alternative medical terms to describe dry eyes are:
Keratitis: This is generally used to describe the dryness and inflammation of the cornea i.e., a transparent layer forming the front of the eye.
Keratoconjunctivitis sicca: This is used to describe the effects of dry eye on both cornea as well as conjunctiva.
Dysfunctional tear syndrome: Used to assert the lacking quality of tears.
The ubiquity of Dry Eyes :
Nowadays dry eyes are a very common disease, According to recent online poll half of the percentage (48%) of Americans aged 18 or old are most affected by this dry eye disease. Around 26 million Americans were suffering from this dry eye effect, this number is expected to increase 29 percent in 10 years. In consideration of another survey, it shows the people aged 50 and above are clinically compelling dry eye syndrome
Dry Eye Symptoms:

Causes of Dry Eye Syndrome:

The tear films consist of some different layers,
- Lipid component (Oily)
- Aqueous Component (Watery)
- Mucin Component
Each component has different purposes, such as the lipids will help to make smooth eye eyes by stopping the evaporation of tears, and mucin will help to spread the tears to the complete surface of the eyes. These individual tear components can be produced by different organs on the eye.
In some cases the other reason for dry eyes is the failure to produce enough aqueous (watery fluid), to keep eyes moisture which is known as “aqueous deficiency dry eyes”.
The different kind of dry eye disease has different kinds of treatments suggested by the doctors.
Allergy:
Eye Allergy- it may be happened due to dust, smoke, or other pollution. The allergy eyes may lead to red eyes, dry eyes, and also conjunctivitis. According to one American survey, it describes that these allergy effects were noticed in 30 percent of adults and 40 percent of children.
These allergy eyes have the symptoms such as a snoozy nose, watery eyes, red eyes, and runny nose. There are some other causes we may find for eye allergies areas due to the usage of cosmetics or due to eye drops and also because of artificial tears. In some cases, it will happen by the reaction of the food which we are taking.

By robbing eyes also we can get the allergies in eyes.

In general, there are some more reasons for these red eyes are too much consumption of alcohol, due to lesser sleep, cold and flu, environmental and workplace hazards, smoking, swimming, and more.
